Hey! I’m Lizzy, I’m from New Jersey and am a rising junior at OWU. I’m an International Studies major with Sociology/Anthropology and Black World Studies minors. I’ve been looking forward to this since I found out about the OWU in Tanzania program before starting my freshman year, so it’s very exciting that the time has finally come! Whenever I talk to someone about my plans to study abroad in East Africa the reactions are all too often negative, cautious, skeptical, or respectfully positive but tagged with a warning. I wanted a change in lifestyle, and I want to be challenged – studying abroad somewhere in Europe wouldn’t do that for me. So I’m really excited for this experience and to share it with my friends and family. Here’s to an adventurous 3 months ahead of us!
