From his humble beginnings in middle school band, JW has matured into a strong performer and pedagogue. JW has played professionally for five years and has held positions with the Firelands, Ann Arbor, and Youngstown Symphonies as well as serving as the Acting Principal Bassoonist of the Florida Orchestra for their 50th anniversary season in 2017. He has also performed in subscription series concerts with the Omaha, Grand Rapids, and Charleston Symphonies. JW earned degrees in Bassoon Performance and Music Education from Michigan State University and a Masters in Music from the Cleveland Institute of Music. Currently, JW lives in Columbus, OH with his cellist wife, Ann.
