Ian Hewetson is originally from Sugar Grove, Ohio and holds degrees in music performance from Capital University, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and Texas Tech University.

Ian has served as Lecturer of Music at Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, New Mexico where he was featured soloist with the ENMU Wind Symphony performing the work Wingspan by Gary Kuo. In addition to his appointment at ENMU, Ian also served as a part-time instructor at Texas Tech University where he taught applied horn lessons and advanced brass techniques for senior music education majors.

Since returning to Columbus, Ian has quickly gained momentum as an in-demand freelance performer, clinician, and teacher, having performed with Amy Grant on her 2019 Christmas tour in Columbus and presented various masterclasses and clinics at universities and high schools across the greater Columbus area.

Ian maintains an active performance schedule frequently performing with Opera Project Columbus, the New Albany Symphony Orchestra, and the Westerville Symphony Orchestra to name a few. In addition to this Ian also maintains a private studio working with all levels of students both in person and online.
