We are accepting submissions for the May edition of News for OWU Families. Please submit news for parents and families using this News for OWU Families form by the deadline, noon Friday, May 1.
For the May edition, please consider submitting information about Commencement, annual end-of-academic-year tasks and events. Consider submitting information about awards ceremonies, recognition programs, special shows or exhibitions, end-of-year traditions, and athletic competitions. Include information for attending in-person attendance and for watching webstreams or recordings (this works great for our out-of-state/country families!).
Additionally, consider submitting annual business items for attention: course selection for the fall semester, residence hall selection information, summer experiences/leadership opportunities, etc.
Families armed with information are good partners in the success of their students!
Tips: 1) eliminate OWU jargon, abbreviations, or acronyms from your emails; 2) use ‘family’ or ‘parents and families’; 3) consider your voice and tone – direct your message to families (not students).
