Video Submissions Sought by Dec. 11 for Dr. Kay Memorial

The Chaplain’s Office and Anna Edmiston ’23 are partnering to create a video memorial in remembrance of Dr. Sean Kay. We are looking for folks who wish to share Dr. Kay’s impact on their lives. This could take the form of reflections on what his life and teaching meant to you, things that you learned from him that have stuck with you, or even some form of artistic expression inspired by him. Any students, faculty, or staff who would like to submit a video clip for potential inclusion in the memorial should send it to Anna (aledmist@owu.edu) by Friday, Dec. 11.

Given the ever-changing realities of the pandemic and our capacity to gather as a community, this project will take the place of an in-person memorial service on campus. We plan to have a showing of the video early in the spring semester, the exact format of which will be determined as we get closer to time. (As a reminder, you can also find the memorial website set up by Dr. Kay’s family here.)
If you have questions, feel free to contact Chaplain Chad Johns or Anna Edmiston. If you would like to assist with parts of the video creation process, please contact Anna directly. Finally, if you find yourself struggling with grief, please remember that Counseling Services and the Chaplain’s Office are both available as resources for you.
Sincerely,
Dr. Chad Johns and Anna Edmiston
