Tonight – “Born on the Fourth of July” Movie Showing

College Republicans, the YDSA, and College Democrats are holding a series of movie nights before the Feb. 25th lecture about the Vietnam War. Born on the Fourth of July will be shown Feb. 19th, at 8pm in Stuy Fishbowl. It is about a suburban New York teenager Ron Kovic who enlists in the Marines, fulfilling what he sees as his patriotic duty. During his second tour in Vietnam, he becomes permanently paralyzed in battle. Returning home to an uncaring Veterans Administration bureaucracy and to people on both sides of the political divide who don’t understand what he went through, Kovic becomes an impassioned critic of the war. Don’t miss it!
