Today – Portion of Oak Hill Ave., Nearby Sidewalk, Stairs Closed

In conjunction with the Smith Hall construction project, we will be closing a portion of Oak Hill Avenue and redirecting both motorists and pedestrians from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. tomorrow, Sept. 4, as workers remove a diseased tree that now has a hollow trunk. For the work:

  • Oak Hill will be blocked just east of the Welch Hall parking lot, preventing through traffic.
  • Students will need to turn left when driving out of the Welch lot and right when driving out of the Stuyvesant lot.
  • The stairs will be blocked that lead from Hayes and Smith halls to Oak Hill and the surrounding sidewalk will be closed.
  • Pedestrians from Hayes and Stuyvesant halls will need to use the south sidewalk on Oak Hill.
  • Pedestrians from Smith Hall will need to use the Liberty Road sidewalk.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as the University works to improve the OWU campus.
