State-required fire alarm, kitchen hood fire suppression, sprinkler, and elevator inspections will take place in December 2020 and January 2021.
Testing times will be from 7 a.m. till 4 p.m. daily. See below for buildings affected. The alarm visuals and strobe horns/bells will be activated as noted. Please share this information with all who may be affected.

Fire Alarm Tests and Inspections with Activation
- Dec. 14, Monday – Bashford Hall
- Dec. 15, Tuesday – Hayes Hall
- Dec. 16, Wednesday – Smith East
- Dec. 17, Thursday – Smith West
- Dec. 18, Friday – Stuyvesant Hall
- Dec. 21, Monday – Stuyvesant Hall
- Dec. 22, Tuesday – Spare day to finish
- Jan. 4, Monday – Hamilton-Williams Campus Center, 7 a.m. start with an estimated 8-hour duration.
Kitchen Hood Fire Suppression System Test and Inspection with Fire Alarm Activation
- Jan. 5, Tuesday – HWCC and Haycock/3D Arts, Smith, Stuyvesant, and Welch Halls.
- Jan. 6, Wednesday – Complete Wednesday inspections, all fraternities and 35 Williams Drive.
- Jan. 7, Thursday – Complete inspections as needed.
Elevator Inspections
These will happen from Jan. 19 through Jan. 22 and take approximately an hour each to perform. This will not be too disrupting, and the schedule is random.
Sprinkler Inspections with and without Fire Alarm Activation as noted

- Day 1/Monday – Inspections with fire alarm activation:
Chappelear Drama Center; Edgar Hall; Edwards Gymnasium/Simpson Querrey Fitness Center; Elliott Hall; HWCC; Haycock Hall/3D Arts; Meek Aquatics and Recreation Center; Merrick Hall; R.W. Corns Building; Schimmel/Conrades Science Center; Stuyvesant Hall; 81 Oak Hill Ave.; 94-110-118 Rowland Ave.; and 4, 23, and 35 Williams Drive.
- Day 2/Tuesday – Finish run-over inspections and proceed to systems without fire alarm activation:
Mowry Alumni Center, Ross Art Museum, Selby East & West, Smith East & West, and Welch Hall.
- Day 3/Wednesday – Half day, complete inspections as needed.
