Space in Self-Care for Creatives Course (THEA 399) – Come Play!

THEA 399: Coordinating Artistic Mental Health: Cultivating Practices of Care for Creative Professionals — a .5 credit bi-term course — takes place Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10-11:50 a.m. and still has space!

Course Description: Many college students can trace a clear trajectory from the academic decisions they make in the present to their professional goals in the future; they rehearse the tools and skills they’ll need for their success. In this course, students will explore the role of personal growth and maintenance in supporting and sustaining a successful life, exploring concepts of care within popular self-care texts through both course discussion and embodied research.

While this course is particularly relevant to individuals pursuing freelance arts careers (in which one’s personal identity and professional success are often closely intertwined), all are welcome. We’re reading and discussing Burnout, Feel Good Productivity, and selections from Anchored. We start discussing readings Tuesday 3/18, so sign up today!
