Sara Trail, founder of the Social Justice Sewing Academy, will be on campus Sat., Sept. 8 to give a talk at 1:00 p.m. explaining how she started the project while in college. Sara will lead a hands-on workshop from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. immediately following her talk, which is free to students (Only $10 for adults).
The SJSA Mission is to piece together youth voices, textile art and community in a 21st century sewing circle. You may have seen the quilts produced by young people in Beeghly Library’s Gallery 2001.
