Sept. 26 @ 3 p.m. – LBV Lecture Series with Marius Smit, Founder of Plastic Whale

Join impact entrepreneur Marius Smit during the OWU Connection Conference as he shares his extraordinary journey from a solo dreamer to the founder of Plastic Whale, a thriving social enterprise that’s turning plastic waste into powerful change.

Thursday, Sept. 26, Hamilton-Williams Campus Center, Benes Rooms from 3-4 p.m.

Thirteen years ago, Marius set out to build a boat from plastic waste without any prior experience, and today, his vision has inspired thousands, leading to a fleet of 16 boats made from Amsterdam Canal Plastic, hundreds of corporate customers, and several successful ventures, including skateboards and office furniture made from recycled materials.

Marius will captivate you with stories of resilience, innovation, and the power of daring to take action. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn how one person’s dream can transform the world!
