Looking for a fun way to unwind, get creative, and make a meaningful new connection? Join us for Paint & Sip at The 1842, a special collaboration between OWU Counseling Services and Connections Volunteer Center (Delaware Helpline)!
Date: Friday, Sept. 25
Time: 4 to 6 p.m.
Where: The 1842
This unique event brings OWU students and elder/older adults from the Delaware community together for an afternoon of creativity, conversation, food, and fun. Each student will be paired with an older adult, and together you’ll have the chance to paint portraits of one another! No artistic experience is needed; creativity, laughter, and imperfect masterpieces are encouraged!
More than just painting, this is an opportunity to connect across generations. Share stories, exchange perspectives, learn from each other’s experiences, and gain a little wisdom along the way. You might be surprised by how much you have in common or what you can learn from someone whose life experiences are different from your own.
The event is designed to combat loneliness, foster meaningful relationships, strengthen our sense of community, and highlight the benefits of social connection.
- All painting supplies provided.
- Free food and drinks.
- Connect one-on-one with an older community member.
- Enjoy recreational activities at The 1842 after painting concludes.
RSVP Required!
Students must RSVP by Monday, Sept. 21, by contacting the OWU Counseling Center. Space may be limited, so be sure to reserve your spot!
