Dr. Joseph Musser, retired professor of English, will give a recital on Ohio Wesleyan’s 4,644-pipe Rexford Keller Memorial Organ at 3:15 p.m. on Sept. 23 in Gray Chapel inside University Hall, 61 S. Sandusky St., Delaware.
The free concert will feature music by Dietrich Buxtehude, J.S. Bach, Felix Mendelssohn, Charles-Marie Widor, Robert Schumann, Herbert Howells and Paul Hindemith.
Musser also will perform one of his own compositions celebrating the 130th anniversary of the Namdaemun Presbyterian Church in Seoul, which traces its origins to Horace Allen, a Delaware native, OWU alumnus and member of First Presbyterian Church. Allen was a medical missionary to Korea in the late 19th century, and served as the first U.S. ambassador to Korea. Musser premiered the piece in Seoul in 2015.
