Sept. 11, 4-7 p.m. – Main Street Delaware’s ‘Hidden Spaces’ Tour

Tour 10 Downtown Delaware sites not typically open to the general public as part of Main Street Delaware’s “Hidden Spaces” fundraising tour.

This year’s Hidden Spaces event will be held from 4-7 p.m. Sept. 11, starting at Main Street’s new Welcome Center at 20 E. William St. Tickets are $20 each and available online at www.mainstreetdelaware.com.

Locations scheduled for the self-guided walking tours include:

Big Four Railroad Train Station, 60 Lake St. A former passenger depot built in 1887.

Delaware County Historic Jail, 20 W. Central Avenue. An 8,500-square-foot building with construction starting in 1878.

Andrews House, 39 W. Winter St. A Greek Revival-style house built in 1845. It has served as a single-family home, Delaware’s first hospital, and OWU fraternities. Today, it houses the offices of multiple nonprofit organizations.

Ohio Wesleyan will be offering tours of newly renovated Branch Rickey Arena to Hidden Spaces participants. (Masks required.)

The OWU community also is invited to head downtown for the Main Street Farmers Market twice a week – Saturdays from 9-noon and Wednesdays from 3-6 p.m. through Oct. 30.
