The Department of Public Safety’s Safe Ride Program is in service, transporting you to and from campus locations, including remote parking lots and residential and academic buildings.
Though we are not staffed yet to provide rides seven days a week, we believe it is important to provide service as often as we can. Until we are fully staffed, we will announce our upcoming schedule each week in the OWU Daily.
Our Safe Ride Program will be staffed by two students driving a University-marked van that circulates a fixed route approximately every 30 minutes.
For the week of Oct. 24-30, 2021:
The Safe Ride Program will operate the following days and times:
10/28/21 7PM – 2AM
10/29/21 7PM – 10:30PM
10/30/21 7PM – 10:30PM
10/31/21 7PM – 10:30PM
Please do not call Public Safety to seek to schedule rides or determine how soon the van will reach a particular stop. This is a circulator service with a fixed path. It should arrive at each scheduled stop at least once every 30 minutes when in service.
If you are a student with a valid driver’s license and clean driving record, please reach out to me at crmickens@owu.edu if you are interested in driving our Safe Ride Program vans. Over time, we hope to staff the program to keep it in service daily from 7 p.m. to 2 a.m. when classes are in session.
Thank you for your time and attention.
