RSVP Deadline Today: Interfaith Leadership Institute

Each year, the Chaplain’s Office sends people to the Interfaith Leadership Institute (http://ifyc.org/ili). This year, the conference is being held virtually for one day, Sept. 17 (11-4, Eastern time). Because ILI works with interfaith community service as one of its primary forms of interfaith cooperation, the Office of Community Service Learning and the Chaplain’s Office are working together to gather a diverse group of students, faculty, and staff to attend this year’s conference. The registration fee will be covered for students, faculty, and staff who wish to attend.

ILI’s mission is one of civic pluralism and interfaith cooperation. We don’t have to believe the same. In fact, interfaith cooperation only really works when we are authentic about our own beliefs and spiritual journeys. But we do have to live in the world with people who believe differently than us. ILI attendees and keynote speakers range from conservative to liberal across all faith traditions and philosophical traditions such as humanism, atheism, and agnosticism.

If you are interested in attending, please email Chad Johns (cejohns@owu.edu) no later than Wed, Aug. 26, as we need to have you registered by the 27th.
