Join us on Tuesday, April 21, in the Ross Art Museum for a Walk & Talk tour of Rod Bouc’s exhibit “Transitory Spaces.” We’ll gather at 1 p.m., and conversation will begin promptly at 1:15 p.m. Bouc will discuss his subject matter and technique – specifically his use of paint sticks.
Bouc’s overlooked, transitory spaces are both familiar and foreign. Memories of the rural landscapes of his childhood on a Nebraska farm remain a foundation of his life and work. In his paintings and drawings, an unimproved, unmaintained dirt road becomes a sacred route. With dramatic light and deep shadow, common trees, weeds, and flowers exude a spiritual presence.
Bouc has been a fixture in the Columbus art scene for over 40 years. He is both an accomplished artist and the former Deputy Director of the Columbus Museum of Art.
