Request for Information on Fall Events

With so much change, the Office of University Communications is seeking information regarding planned fall events, especially those that will be open to the general public.

Please email event information to Cole Hatcher at cehatche@owu.edu. If possible, please provide the following information:

  • Event time, date, and location.
  • Presenter’s name, title, and terminal degree.
  • Title of presentation.
  • Short event description.
  • RSVP information (especially if people must register to receive a Zoom invitation for the event).
  • Cost (if applicable).
  • Presenter’s approved biography (online links are fine).
  • Presenter’s photo (high resolution, please; online links are fine).

Here is a sample calendar listing:

7 p.m. March 31 – U.S. Congressman John Lewis, D-Georgia, the last surviving member of the Big Six leaders of the Civil Rights Movement, discusses his lifetime of experiences, in Gray Chapel inside University Hall, 61 S. Sandusky St., Delaware. Lewis, called “one of the most courageous persons the Civil Rights Movement ever produced,” will be awarded an honorary Doctor of Laws degree, Ohio Wesleyan’s highest recognition. This event also will be streamed live at https://www.owu.edu/about/follow-owu/stream-owu/. Learn more at www.owu.edu.

As you schedule new events, for fall or spring, please share this information, too, so that we may help to publicize your events as appropriate. (FYI, most daily/weekly media prefer information 2-3 weeks in advance, with monthly and quarterly publications needing details much, much sooner.)

Finally, if you need a publicity release form from your presenter (if you plan to stream it or post it online), the form is available online.

Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you for your collaboration and good luck with everything ahead.
