Reminder – Executive Functioning Training with Ana Homayoun

You are invited to a series of professional development workshops focused on executive functioning (EF) from leading national expert, Ana Homayoun!

Staff Training: Building a Common EF Language

  • When: Thursday, Sept. 4, 11 a.m.- 1 p.m.

  • Where: Merrick 301

  • What: This session will provide a brief overview of executive functioning, helping us develop a common language. We’ll also reflect on our own EF skills and learn “small teaching” strategies to incorporate into our daily interactions with students. Sign up for lunch here.

Staff Training: A Deeper Dive

  • When: Thursday, Sept. 4, 2 p.m.- 4 p.m.

  • Where: Merrick 301

  • What: In this workshop, we’ll take a deeper dive into four key EF skills: emotional resilience, study skills, organization, and time management. You’ll work in groups to develop specific strategies for supporting students in one-on-one and small group settings.

Faculty EF Workshop

  • When: Friday, Sept. 5, 12 p.m.- 12:50 p.m.

  • Where: Merrick 301

  • What: This session is tailored for faculty, focusing on teaching two critical skills: goal setting and resilience. You will leave with 3-5 specific, actionable strategies to incorporate into your teaching. This workshop can build on the earlier faculty workshop and/or stand alone.

  • When: Friday, Sept. 5, 1:30 p.m.- 3 p.m.

  • Where: Merrick 301

  • What:  This session will cover strategies for presenting EF skills to large groups of students, including how to develop a training series that resonates with this generation.
