Congratulations to Chloe Bush (Early Childhood) and Lexi Schmitt (Adolescent to Young Adult, Life Science), the 2019 recipients of the Promising Educator Award!
The Promising Educator Award is given to one major and one minor in the Education Department, and determined by a committee of faculty and student board members, based on the following criteria:
– Instructional Excellence.
– High level of commitment to the education profession, going above and beyond requirements.
– Professional behavior.
– Outstanding peer mentoring and leadership.
– Completion of student teaching and eligibility for graduation.
Chloe and Lexi received a copy of “Letters to a Young Teacher” by Jonathan Kozol, and were honored at the student teaching reception on Thursday.
