We are sad to share that Professor Emeritus Clifford “Cliff” Cook passed away Aug. 6 in Mount Vernon, Ohio. He was 79.
Cliff taught accounting and finance at Ohio Wesleyan between 1984 and 2015, officially retiring in 2006.
His family shares: “Cliff was a lifelong learner and approached everything he did with incredible passion and incessant energy. Whether related to accounting and finance, bicycling, global trade, weight training, academia, coffee, kayaking, investments, the Spanish language, fishing, or triathlons – it made no difference to him. He strived for expertise and excellence in everything he did. He instilled his passion for life in his family and friends and was always there for them when they needed him.”
Cliff’s survivors include his wife of 57 years, Joyce (Salisbury) Cook; daughter, Wendy Denman; and son, Andy Cook ’96. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Sept. 3 at Hope Lutheran Church, 15370 Meredith State Road, Sunbury. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. The family suggests memorial contributions to The Salvation Army or the charity of one’s choice. Read the complete obituary.
Please join us in sharing our deepest condolences with all of Cliff’s family and friends.
