The OWU Art Hop, highlighting Ohio Wesleyan’s Departments of Fine Arts and Performing Arts and the Richard M. Ross Art Museum, will include the following events:
Dec. 3, 4:30-8 p.m. – OWU art student exhibition, in the Werner Gallery inside Edgar Hall. The show will feature works purchased from OWU students who have demonstrated outstanding achievement in their work. The student works have been purchased with an endowment contributed by professor emeritus Marty Kalb. Admission is free, and facial coverings are required.
Dec. 3 at 7:30 p.m. – “We Barely Talk: A Festival of One-Acts,” with producer/directing mentor Brian Granger, on the Main Stage in Chappelear Drama Center. This event is recommended for those 13 and older. General admission is free with open seating and facial coverings are required.
Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. – OWU Music Collage Concert, featuring the Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Park Avenue Jazz Ensemble, Choral Art Society, and Marching Bishops. The collage concert will be held in Gray Chapel inside University Hall. Admission is free, and facial coverings are required.
Dec. 7, 4:15 p.m.-7 p.m. – Deaf Republic Programs with the English Department and Ross Art Museum. 4:15-5:15 p.m. –Annual Carpenter lecture by poet Ilya Kaminsky on his book “Deaf Republic,” in Benes C, Hamilton-Williams Campus Center. 5:45-6:45 p.m. – Moderated discussion between artist James Stewart and Kaminsky about paintings developed in response to “Deaf Republic” poems, at the Ross Art Museum. 6:45 p.m. – “Deaf Republic” book signing at the Ross. Admission is free, and facial coverings are required.
Dec. 8 at 6 p.m. – Dance at the Ross, featuring OWU student-choreographers presenting three solo performances in response to new exhibitions at the museum. The students are advised by OWU faculty member Rashana Perks Smith. Admission is free, and facial coverings are required.
