OWL Program Updates

As we launch into OWL Camp 2026, I wanted to inform you of some bittersweet leadership updates.

As you may have heard, we will bid a fond farewell to Josie Bair at the end of June as she pursues an exciting new chapter as a Ph.D. candidate! Josie has brought many new program concepts to the OWL Program, particularly in response to her challenge to grow the program beyond the three weeks of overnight camp that she inherited in 2023.

In addition to adding, first one, and now, two additional weeks of summer programming through Day Camps, Josie also introduced a Youth Leadership Team and a Leader-in-Training program to more deeply engage those students aging out of OWL Camp. She also incorporated several educational workshops throughout the year, including a Common App workshop for high school students and fine arts workshops open to community members.

Please join me in thanking Josie for her enthusiasm and dedication to the OWL program over the last 3+ years and wishing her good luck on her next adventure!

Further, I am pleased to announce that Eve Helenberger will assume the role of OWL Director, effective July 1. Eve has a breadth of institutional knowledge and a deep commitment to the program, serving in various roles, up to and including Interim Director, since 2011. Congratulations, Eve! We look forward to continued growth and development of the OWL Program under your leadership!

Respectfully,

Jeremy Stanford
