Oct. 29 @ noon – Bucin, Gitter, & Kim Immigration Panel Discussion

On Oct. 29 at noon in Merrick Hall 301, Dana Bucin will be joined by OWU Professors Robert Gitter and Veda Kim for a panel discussion, “On Immigration: What’s the Matter? What Matters?”, where guests and students will be able to ask questions and participate in the discussion.

A 2002 Ohio Wesleyan graduate, Bucin is a partner at Harris Beach Murtha, a 250+ attorney law firm with offices in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, and the District of Columbia. Bucin is also the Honorary Consul of Romania to Connecticut, a diplomatic appointment that enables her to facilitate cross-border educational, business, medical, legal, military, and cultural exchanges.

This event, and Bucin’s Oct. 28 lecture, comprise OWU’s 2025-2026 Benjamin F. Marsh Lecture on Public Affairs; Butler A. Jones Lecture on Race and Society; and Robert Kragalott Lecture on Genocide, Mass Atrocity, and Human Rights. Admission is free.

Both events are sponsored by the departments of Africana, Gender and Identity Studies, History, Politics & Government, and Sociology & Anthropology.
