On Fri., Oct. 26, Professor Wendy Singer, Roy T. Wortman Distinguished Professor of History at Kenyon College, has agreed to come to OWU to lead a workshop for Dr. Cusato’s upper-level French course on immigration. The workshop will train students to consider the ethical issues that can arise when conducting, editing and publishing oral histories.
The workshop will last from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Elliott Hall, Room 205, and will be followed by a luncheon. Professor Singer literally wrote the book on the topic. Take a look at her bio if you’re curious: https://www.kenyon.edu/directories/campus-directory/biography/wendy-singer/ .
As a class, French 300.5 is preparing to collect, edit and publish oral histories from French-speaking immigrants in the Columbus area, and this workshop will be an essential training tool for the students. All are welcome to attend the workshop. Please note that the luncheon is invitation only.
