In this adaptation of Lope de Vega’s El caballero de Olmedo / The Knight from Olmedo, two stories intersect: In the first one, Don Alonso sets out on horseback from Medina del Campo to Olmedo, and in the second, a young motorcyclist takes the same route. Throughout the trip, they unravel their respective stories, like a spell against the fear that haunts them both. The ambiguity between both spaces and times runs through the entire play and shows the two protagonists as parallel characters with the same ambitions and motives: love, jealousy, envy, loneliness, irrational fear, and a common destiny.
Based on “The Knight from Olmedo” by Lope de Vega. Performed by Juan Cañas. Adapted by Julieta Soria. Directed by Ainhoa Amestoy.
