David Kaufman is the CEO of Encova Insurance, formerly Motorists Insurance Group and BrickStreet Insurance, a super-regional carrier ranked in the top 20 mutual insurance companies in the United States. He is going to discuss “Integrated Leadership” at Ohio Wesleyan University on October 1, at 7:30 p.m. in the Benes Room B of HWCC. Dave started his career as an actuary with Connecticut General and then as a financial analyst with Capital Holding Corporation. He joined Motorists in 1986 and the executive leadership team as senior vice president and CIO in 2010. Later he was elected president and COO in 2012 and CEO a year later. Dave is a trusted adviser and serves on several industry boards including American Association of Insurance Services, Insurance Industry Resource Council (IIRC), and Ohio Insurance Institute (OII). In addition to his industry involvement, Dave also founded Future Possibilities Inc., a nonprofit organization that delivers a life-skills coaching program to inner-city youth in Columbus, Ohio. Mr. Kaufman graduated with a Mathematics and Economics double major from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1981.
