Join OMSA on Mon., Oct. 1 at 7 p.m. in the Benes Room (Ham-Wil 1st floor), as we welcome renowned author Wil Haygood home to the Central Ohio area! Haygood is best known for his book “The Butler,” which inspired the award-winning film starring Forest Whitaker & Oprah Winfrey.
Haygood will be discussing his new book “TIGERLAND: 1968-1969: A City Divided, a Nation Torn Apart, and a Magical Season of Healing.” The book focuses on two sports teams at East High School in Columbus, OH, and according to Booklist.com, “the ‘magic’ that happens during the traumatic and tragic events of 1968 and 1969.”
Gregory L. Moore, a Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and ’76 OWU alum, will interview Haygood about the book and invite questions from the audience.
