May Move Out is Back for Its 10th Year!

Have things you need to get rid of and don’t want to throw away? Want to give your items a second life in someone else’s hands? Donate to one of the pods around campus!

These are storage bins that will be regularly open from 7 am – 7 pm from April 22 to May 5 that will be regularly sorted and collected by our good ole partner, Goodwill. Each pod will be clearly labeled and will have a poster on its exterior indicating what you can and cannot donate. Every year, this event prevents thousands of pounds of perfectly usable materials from ending up in a landfill, so your donations can make a huge impact.

In addition, we are in need of volunteers on peak days of Move Out, which are April 27 & 30 and May 3 & 4. Your job would be to stand by the pods and inform individuals what the pods are and what students can donate. Volunteers do not have to help on all days; we will take whatever help we can. For anyone interested, sign-up to volunteer at https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1GIF9BrpoXp7aaBrGdeb-KgPYYqlOL1bJGL3ejP9j3cU/edit?usp=sharing.

If you have any questions, such as where the pods are located and what items you can donate, visit our maymoveout.owu.edu website. For any other questions, email Graham Steed (gesteed@owu.edu) or Dr. John Krygier (jbkrygier@owu.edu). Thank you!
