Join three respected scholars of disability via Zoom for “Disability as a Power,” a companion program to the Ross Art Museum’s current exhibit James Stewart: Deaf Republic. Advance registration is required and available here.
The panel will explore how traits labeled “disabilities” can be personal, social, and cultural sites of challenge, strength, and change.
Speakers include Dr. Kim Nielsen, Professor and Chair of Disability Studies and History, Women’s, and Gender Studies at University of Toledo; Dr. Ally Day, Associate Professor of Disability Studies and History, Women’s, and Gender Studies at University of Toledo; and Dr. Debanuj DasGupta, Assistant Professor of Feminist Studies at UC Santa Barbara. The event will be moderated by OWU Associate Professor of Politics and Government, Dr. Ashley Biser.
