The English Department is pleased to welcome novelist Chinelo Okparanta as our Michael C. Quinn Memorial Lecturer on Thursday, March 2, from 4:15-5:15 pm in the Milligan Room of Slocum Hall. Chinelo Okparanta is a Nigerian American novelist and author of the recent novel Harry Sylvester Bird, named a “Best Book of the Summer,” “Most Anticipated,” and “New And Noteworthy Book” by Esquire, Cosmopolitan, LitHub, Book Riot, Ms. Magazine, The Millions, Lambda Literary, Poets & Writers, and more. She is also the author of the short story collection Happiness, Like Water, and the novel Under The Udala Trees.

Join Okparanta for a reading followed by a Q&A and book signing. This event is free and open to the public.
