Ohio Wesleyan’s Perkins Observatory is hosting a free virtual talk at 8 p.m. March 19 featuring Barbara Ryden of The Ohio State University.
Ryden, Ph.D., an OSU professor of astronomy, will present “Caroline Herschel: Tough Little German Sister” to help the observatory celebrate Women’s History Month.
Herschel, who lived from 1750 to 1848, discovered several comets during her career, including the periodic comet 35P/Herschel–Rigollet, which is named in her honor.
