The city of Delaware is currently considering a decision on whether or not to fly third-party flags, including Pride flags and Black History Month flags, along Sandusky Street in downtown Delaware. The local discussion follows legal action being taken elsewhere regarding third-party flags.
As a result, many progressive organizations in Delaware are encouraging Delaware city residents (which includes any OWU student) to attend and, if comfortable, share a brief comment (no more than three minutes) on the flag issue at the next City Council meeting, to be held Monday, April 24, at 7 p.m. in City Hall (on the corner of Sandusky and William streets across from Amato’s and Solar Saloon).
While simply attending the first half hour of the meeting is important, it would be especially helpful to hear from as many individuals as possible on the flag issue and its significance to the community.
