One of the best ways to improve student learning is to use a guided student feedback process in the middle of the semester. Student Guided Instructional Diagnosis (SGID) has been used by faculty for decades with strong results in both student learning and faculty experience (Black; Bowden; Snooks, Neely, Williamson). Faculty value knowing what they are doing that supports student learning and knowing a few things they could do to improve student learning.
