HURRICANE HELENE –> You Can Help!

OWU’s Community Service Learning Department is partnering with UMCOR (United Methodist Committee oRelief), whose proven mission is to supply survivors of natural disasters and those who have been displaced with food, water, shelter, and help with mucking out and cleaning up. UMCOR also offers emergency financial assistance in the aftermath of disaster to support local relief work.

The Ohio Wesleyan community can participate in these two tangible ways:

  • COLLECT DONATIONS. All donations (every penny) will be directly used to provide aid for this natural disaster.
  • MAKE FLOOD BUCKETS to be sent to affected areas. This is a great project for departments, groups, organizations, individuals, and teams. If you are interested in making buckets, contact Sally Leber (ssleber@owu.edu) or watch the video at https://umcmission.org/umcor-cleaning-kit/. You can also download instructions at this site.

Important Note: Members of Ohio Wesleyan’s family and extended family have been affected by Hurricane Helene. Let’s put together a good collection of these supplies to send down to the affected areas!
