It is the time of year when the OWU Department of History asks our declared majors to nominate someone they feel would be a great asset to the History Student Board for the 2025-2026 academic year.
You are encouraged to nominate yourself and/or someone else and are permitted to submit up to three nominations (including yourself) for the board elections.
Note: The nominee must also be a declared History major.
Being a member of the History Student Board does not require a huge time commitment. It simply needs conscientious, dedicated people to serve and who are willing and able to meet on a regular basis, usually once or twice a month (dates & times determined by the entire board based upon their schedules).
The responsibilities of the board can include planning and attending social events, informing the faculty of student concerns, participating in faculty searches and evaluations when requested, behind the scenes meet-and-greet with our guest lecturers, organizing field trips and Lunch-n-Learns, and representing the department at Admissions events, among other things… not to mention, playing an active role on a departmental student board in college looks pretty good on a resume.

Nominations are due Sunday, April 13, 2025 (11:59 p.m.). Elections will take place April 14 – April 21, 2025.
