Healthy Tip of the Week: Meatless Mondays at Marketplace!

Did you know that OWU Marketplace is now doing Meatless Mondays for dinner? Plant-based diets which emphasize proteins like beans, nuts, seeds, vegetables, and grains tend to be higher in fiber and vitamins and lower in fat. Diets high in red meat and processed meats tend to increase a person’s risk for heart disease, stroke, and diabetes. You don’t necessarily have to go cold turkey to see the benefits of a more plant-based diet; try cutting out meat once or twice a week and replace your animal-based protein with a nutrient-dense plant-based protein. See you at the Marketplace, Bishops!
