Healthy Tip of the Week: Computers and Eyestrain

Because most of our classes and/or classwork is online, we spend a lot of time on the computer everyday. Regularly using the computer for long stretches of time can result in eyestrain that typically includes tired eyes, watery or dry eyes, blurry vision, headache, sore neck and shoulder area, etc. While there is no evidence that this may result in permanent vision problems, it can make you more tired and make it harder to focus. A common way of combating eyestrain is to reduce the glare of your screen, move your device farther away from your face, remember to blink, and do the 20-20-20 rule (every 20 minutes look at something 20 feet away for at least 20 seconds). Keep your eyes on the prize (and something 20 feet away), Bishops!
