Health Tip of the Week – It’s Allergy Season!

Spring is finally coming! Hurray! But with that lovely spring air comes plenty of pollen to activate spring allergies. Here are some tips to minimize the effects of allergy season.

1. Take a shower after spending time outside to wash away any residual pollen that stuck in your hair or on your skin.
2. Do some spring cleaning! This will minimize the number of allergens present in your room, so break out the vacuum.
3. Wear sunglasses and/or a wide-brimmed hat to keep pollen from entering your eyes and causing itchy, watery eyes.
4. Resist the urge to open your windows! As nice as that spring breeze feels, opening the window allows the pollen to invade the inside of your home.
5. See an allergist. An allergist will best be able to recommend treatment to lessen the effects of severe allergies.
