Now is the time of year for many students to get colds-or possibly allergies. How can you tell whether you are suffering and sniffling from a cold or allergies?
Both ailments include runny noses, sneezing, a sore throat and congestion, but a cough is more commonly seen with a cold. If you have a cold, you may also suffer from aches and pain or sometimes a fever. Colds also tend to only last around 10 days, but allergies will stick around as long as you are exposed to the allergen. This may be for several weeks due to pollen or other such triggers.
Knowing whether you have a cold or allergies can help you better manage your symptoms. If you have any questions, feel free to stop by the OWU Student Health Center!
