Health Tip of the Week: Check Your Hand Sanitizers!

Did you know that not all hand sanitizers are made equal? During the pandemic, you probably started using more hand sanitizer than ever before, but is it really getting the job done? According to the FDA, consumers should avoid any hand sanitizer containing methanol or 1-propanol or contains “less than the required amount of ethyl alcohol, isopropyl alcohol or benzalkonium chloride.” Keep those hands clean and keep yourselves safe, Bishops!
For a full list of hand sanitizers that should be avoided, check the FDA’s website: www.fda.gov/drugs/drug-safety-and-availability/fda-updates-hand-sanitizers-consumers-should-not-use#products.
