We are sad to share that former OWU staff member Shirley Welsh passed away July 8 at her home here in Delaware. She was 79.
Shirley worked at Ohio Wesleyan from fall 1975 through spring 2003 in roles including the OWU Bookstore and Duplicating Office.
According to her family, “Shirley was a ‘giver,’ her joy being in giving to those special people in her life and volunteering to help those in need whenever she was able. … She loved getting together and laughing with her friends; she had contagious a joy of being with people!”
Services were held July 14, with contributions suggested in Shirley’s name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
