We are sad to share that former OWU staff member Pam Besel passed away Oct. 20 in Upper Arlington, Ohio.
Her family shares that Pam lived a full and giving life while dealing with Type 1 diabetes before she “joined her family, friends, and met her golden retrievers and miscellaneous pets at the rainbow bridge.”
Pam worked at Ohio Wesleyan for 34 years, serving under four presidents between 1981 and 2015. Throughout her decades-long career, Pam served in roles that included serving as the editor and senior writer for the award-winning OWU Magazine, helping to plan the University’s annual Mother’s Day commencements, and contributing her expertise to countless publications and public relations projects.
Pam’s family also shares that, for much of her life, she enjoyed avid and active tennis at the Olympic Racquet Club and Northam Park, typically captaining and organizing matches.
Please join us in offering our sincere condolences on Pam’s passing to her husband of 50 years, Mark; their daughter, Megan Adair ’00, and all of Pam’s many family members and friends.
Funeral services for Pamela Dennis Besel will be held at 1 p.m. today, Oct. 23, at Schoedinger Northwest, 1740 Zollinger Road, Columbus. Interment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, 334 S. Sandusky St., Delaware. Read more and share memories or condolences online.
