This fall, we are launching our first Faculty Learning Community (FLC) and seeking 8 curious instructors to explore how generative AI can enhance student learning. Setting aside meta-debates on AI ethics, this group will focus on applying learning science with genAI tools to improve assignments, course policies, assessments, and lesson plans.
Using The Science of Learning Meets AI by Lewis D. Ludwig and Todd D. Zakrajsek as our guide, we will collaborate, share challenges, experiment, and develop concrete action steps for our teaching. By year’s end, members will draft an implementation plan and share key takeaways with the broader OWU community.
