Did You Get Monday’s OWU ALERT Test? If Not, Read This!

On Monday, Jan. 27, Ohio Wesleyan tested its OWU ALERT emergency notification system starting at approximately 12:07 p.m. You should have received an email sent to your owu.edu email account as well as text and voice messages sent to your cell phone.

If you didn’t receive the cell phone alerts, please check your phone’s spam folders. If the text message was discarded, please mark it as “not spam.” It may appear as coming from 58843.

If the voice call was discarded, please add 740-737-8880 to your contacts as OWU ALERT to help you recognize its importance.

If you need to change your cell phone number in your OWU record:

  • Students, please email cell phone corrections to registrar@owu.edu.
  • Employees, please log into the ADP Portal and use the “Myself,” “My Information,” and “Profile” links to update cell phone information.
  • If you have an owu.edu email issue, please contact the Information Systems Help Desk at helpdesk@owu.edu.

Parents or guardians of students who wish to sign up for OWU ALERT text messages should text OWUalertFamily (not case sensitive with no spaces between words) to 58843 to receive notifications and STOP to the same number to discontinue receiving messages.

Spouses or partners of OWU employees should text OWUalertPartner (not case sensitive with no spaces between words) to 58843 to receive emergency notifications and STOP to the same number to discontinue receiving messages.
