On Aug. 19, Ohio Wesleyan shared an OWU ALERT notification about a crosswalk light problem on Liberty Street. You should have received an email sent to your owu.edu email account as well as a text message sent to your cell phone. If you have installed the CampusShield app on your phone, the OWU ALERT appeared in the app, too.
If you didn’t receive the cell phone alert, please check your phone’s spam folders. If the text message was discarded, please mark it as “not spam.” It may appear to be coming from 58843. Please also add 740-737-8880 to your phone contacts as OWU ALERT to help you recognize voice calls when they are sent. (We did not send a voice message last night.) You are able to download the free CampusShield app here: (Android) (iOS).
If you need to change your cell phone number in your OWU record:
- Students, please email cell phone corrections to registrar@owu.edu.
- Employees, please log into the ADP Portal and use the “Myself,” “My Information,” and “Profile” links to update cell phone information.
- If you have an owu.edu email issue, please contact the Information Systems Help Desk at helpdesk@owu.edu.
Parents or guardians of students who wish to sign up for OWU ALERT text messages should text OWUalertFamily (not case sensitive with no spaces between words) to 58843 to receive notifications and STOP to the same number to discontinue receiving messages.
Spouses or partners of OWU employees should text OWUalertPartner (not case sensitive with no spaces between words) to 58843 to receive emergency notifications and STOP to the same number to discontinue receiving messages.
