We are sad to share that two former OWU staff members have passed away. Christel Burnside of Delaware died May 30 at Marion General Hospital, and Diana K. Stitzlein of Waldo died unexpectedly June 6 at her home.
Christel, the widow of OWU professor emeritus of physics and astronomy Phillips Burnside, was employed by Ohio Wesleyan for several years as the science librarian. A botanist, she was known in the Northwest Neighborhood for her unique and beautiful gardens. Her complete obituary is available here.
Diana had worked as an administrative assistant at Ohio Wesleyan. An animal and plant lover, she also had worked at the extension office in Delaware and was a 20-year 4-H adviser. Here is link to Diana’s obituary, which includes information regarding calling hours and services.
