There were a number of individual awards presented on Thursday night’s 15th annual Dale J. Bruce Scholar-Athlete Awards Dinner. Nina Carmichael-Tanaka won the Presidential Award which is based on athletics ability and achievement, academic excellence, character, leadership, activities and inspiration. The Dr. Jay Martin Award that recognizes the top male senior student-athlete and was awarded to Tommy Davis (Track and Field). The Nan Carney-DeBord Award that recognizes the top female senior student-athlete and was awarded to Mackenzie Brunke (Women’s Soccer). The Dr. Richard Gordin Award that recognizes the highest gpa for male senior student-athletes went to Jack Hibbard (Men’s Tennis). The Mary Parker Award that recognizes the highest gpa for female senior student-athletes went to Maddie Lancaster (Women’s Lacrosse). The James DiBiasio Sportsmanship Award went to senior Joe Yurik (Football) and the Mackenzie Conway Sportsmanship Award went to senior Lauren Carpenter (Volleyball). North Coast Athletic Conference Scholar-Athlete Awards went to senior Alyssa Acevedo (Track and Field) and senior Will Sharer (Men’s Soccer). The Bob Strimer Director’s Cup, awarded to the Ohio Wesleyan team with the highest cumulative grade point average, went to the rowing team. The Alumni Recognition Award was presented to Andy Busch.
