Must be CPR/AED and Red Cross Lifeguard Certified prior to applying. Any applicants for the job without these certificates will not be considered.
Requirements-
Working knowledge of Meek Rules and Regulations
Knowledge of Meek Student Employee Manual
Commitment to customer service and satisfaction
Superior observational skills and consciousness
Current American Red Cross Lifeguard, CPR/AED and first Aid Training Certifications must be on file with the aquatic director prior to your first day
Responsibilities-
Ensures the safety and well-being of all members and users
Monitor pool and pool deck areas
Assure readiness of equipment
Enforce Athletic Department Policies
Expectations-
Arrive to shift on time or earlier in proper uniform
Have rescue tube and fanny pack at your station
Check your area for hazardous conditions before swimming
Be professional, alert, courteous and diplomatic
Stay alert, scan the pool at all times and avoid socializing while on the chair and the pool is occupied
Lifeguards may not engage in activities that interfere with supervising patrons while at their station. Examples: Phone use, reading, laptops
Take daily chemical readings and report any obscurities to Aquatic director.
Expected weekly work hours = 5-15 hours
Work Hours 4-7pm Monday – Friday and Weekends Hours.
