Main Street Delaware’s eighth annual “Home for the Holidays” weekend Dec. 6-8 will feature the lighting of the community Christmas tree, ice skating (including an OWU-only skate from 9-11 p.m. Dec. 6), a “Dash for Dasher” scavenger hunt, the annual Christmas Parade, carriage rides, Santa Claus, and more!
The tree lighting will take place at 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6, at William and Sandusky streets. Free community iceless (glice) skating will take place Friday, Saturday, and Sunday on the JAYwalk, with an OWU-only student skate from 9-11 p.m. Friday. Sunday’s holiday parade begins at 5 p.m. (to support lighted floats!) traveling south on Sandusky Street from Mingo Park to Wilmer Street.
This year’s celebration also will include a Dec. 7 Great Gingerbread Build-Off, a Dec. 12 indoor Holiday Makers’ Market featuring artisans and crafters, and a Dec. 15 ticketed history-and-holiday trolley tour of the Northwest Neighborhood area.
